GovBiz Consulting (formerly Government Insight & Growth Strategies) was founded in 2009 to bring proven methodologies to small and mid-size businesses looking to achieve sustainable revenue growth within the federal market. Mary had her "aha" moment after years of listening to business owners and leaders from small to mid-size companies all saying the same thing: that they wanted to do business with the federal government, but lacked either the knowledge, time and/or resources to devote to navigating the government market.  Recognizing this need, she set out to make federal business development services available to small and mid-size organizations that lacked the personnel to devote to this effort.  She realized she could help bridge this gap by providing the focused, directed effort, expertise and proposal services required and by implementing well-defined, targeted business development strategies that had proven successful time and again in her 20+ years in business development driving rapid revenue growth.

There are many resources available to assist private industry with doing business with the federal government at no cost, yet there are many companies out there that charge hefty fees for these same services that are available for free. "I saw many organizations paying for services that they could get elsewhere for nothing and it bothered me."  One of the best resources for government contracting assistance is the Procurement Technical Assistance Program, where most services are available at little to no cost, with over 300 offices across the U.S. Another great resource for newcomers to government contracting is the U.S. Small Business Administration and Small Business Development Centers with 900 service delivery sites located throughout the country. Mary knew she could help companies save both time and money by sharing lessons learned over the years - some learned through mistakes - and help others avoid those same pitfalls. She takes pride in helping companies minimize risk while capitalizing on growth opportunities in the government marketplace.
